Maintenance

State of Hawaii authorities use Eckard Brandes Inc. to maintain wet wells and catchment basins for the Honolulu Airport. With more than 20 million visitors a year, Honolulu Airport is Hawaii's main gateway to the world. Its high structural standards and traffic requires EBD's zero error maintenance operations.

Eckard Brandes Inc. provides environmental support for the Waikiki Beach Walk construction project. Spanning 8 acres, the $460 million undertaking is the largest development in the history of Waikiki, aimed to transform it into a uniquely pedestrian-friendly destination.

Rehabilitation

Insituform Technologies picked EBD for subcontractor for the massive Kapiolani Boulevard water and sewer improvement project in the heart of Honolulu, aimed to restore aging pipe infrastructure on Kapiolani Boulevard, portions of Kamakee Street, Atkinson Drive, and Kalakaua Avenue.

On the Windward side, FCCC and Eckard Brandes joined efforts in the Kalaheo Sewer Reconstruction Project to protect the Kailua Bay environment and the Kailua neighborhood. The project will attempt to correct the current sewer system to reduce potential sewage spills.

Research

EBD's new End-i process allows municipalities and property owners a cost-effective alternative to expensive trench-digging pipe repairs. Developed and tested mostly on Oahu, the system has been adapted to Hawaii's climate and environment especially well.
